Two Boat ramps offer quick access to the lake and acres of open water provide room for skiers, anglers, and personal watercraft. Boat rentals are available at a variety of places with a wide range of craft from which to choose.
Shaver Lake has two large marinas, ample support for a lake of this size. Marine repairs are available as well as fuel and supplies. Boat rentals are offered at both establishments.
Shaver Lake has 16 different species of fish. Anglers most often head to the lake in search of Kokanee salmon, trout, bass, bluegill, crappie, and catfish.
Camp Edison puts most other campgrounds in California to shame. Its lakeside campsites offer electricity and cable TV along with a host of family activities, all at moderate prices. The Forest Service also has a campground at the lake, along with several others nearby.
Shaver Lake has several opportunities for lodging, most of them cabins. Some are simple one or two bedroom cabins, others are larger vacation homes. Nearby Huntington Lake has a half dozen resorts with more choices for lodging.

The community of Shaver Lake has a variety of restaurants, stores, and services to meet the needs of mountain vacationers. For those in need of more specialized items, the 50-mile journey down the mountain to Fresno takes about an hour and fifteen minutes.
