New Melones Campgrounds and RV Parks

New Melones Lake has two recreation areas managed by the Bureau of Reclamation: Tuttletown and Glory Hole. There are campgrounds located at both recreation sites. The gates to the areas open at 4:00 AM year-round. Closing times vary according to the schedule below:

Additional camping can be found at nearby Calaveras Big Trees State Park and at some of the neighboring lakes. RV Parks are available only a few miles away at Frogtown and in Angels Camp.

Location: 2 Miles off Highway 49 on Whittle Road, campgrounds situated on a peninsula.
