Lake Almanor is owned by the Pacific Gas and Electric Company. They maintain many of the campgrounds in the area. Forest Service campgrounds are also available at the lake as well as some private campgrounds and many RV parks.

Several Picnic and Beach areas are located around the lake along with a Scenic Overlook at the south end of the lake with views across the lake and of Mount Lassen in the distance. The Lake Almanor Recreation Trail connects many of the campgrounds.
