Stampede Reservoir Camping

Stampede Reservoir has two National Forest campgrounds right at the lake, one of them a group campground. Camping is in lightly pine-forested, chaparral country. Both campgrounds accept reservations.

Back down the road around Boca Reservoir are several campgrounds. Those tend to be more exposed with few trees. They are popular with people who are mostly interested in fishing. More campgrounds are found at Prosser Reservoir

There is a pair of RV parks in nearby Truckee and another over the pass in Cisco Grove. Sandy Beach Campground at Tahoe Vista along Lake Tahoe has 44 RV Sites. To the east in nearby Boomtown, Nevada, is a KOA Campground with more than 200 RV sites.
