Camping Near Fallen Leaf Lake

Fallen Leaf Campground is the only campground at Fallen Leaf Lake, situated on the north end of the lake close to Camp Richardson. With 188 sites it serves both tent campers and RVers. The campground also has a few yurts available.

Campers can find more campgrounds along the west shore of Lake Tahoe, including Emerald Bay State Park and Bayview Campground. More state parks and campgrounds are located north of Emerald Bay.

Hiking Trails

Mount Tallac:

From Fallen Leaf Campground, 5 miles to the summit of Mt. Tallac, 3340' elevation gain. From the road's end at the south end of Fallen Leaf Lake, the trail is 3.5 miles, gaining 3,260 feet.

Angora Lakes:

From the south end of Fallen Leaf Lake, the trail is 1.5 miles, gaining 970 feet.

Glen Alpine Falls:

From the trailhead at the south end of Fallen Leaf Lake, the trail is 0.8 miles, gaining 200 feet.

Grass Lake:

From the Glen Alpine Falls trailhead at the south end of Fallen Leaf Lake, the trail to Grass Lake is 2.8 miles, gaining 700 feet.
