Bass Lake Water Levels

Pacific Gas and Electric must follow the regulations set forth by the federal government for the levels of the lake. For flood control the lake must be lowered to 60% of capacity (about 25 feet) by September 15. Lake levels usually stay high enough to float docks through Labor Day.

Water from the lake generates electricity and provides fish habitat, as well as serving farmers downstream.
