North Lake Tahoe Boating

Lake Tahoe is the gem of the Sierra. Boaters are drawn to its crystal clear waters and its magnificent beauty. During the summer boaters of all kinds spread across Tahoe's vast expanse. Water sports enthusiasts are found all around the lake. Sailors like the stiff winds. Classic boats such as Chris Crafts, Gar Woods, and Rivas are seen cruising the waters.

Wind is a concern for small craft, especially open fishing boats. When the breeze rises over 10 MPH, most prudent fishermen head for protected water or for shore. Call (775) 673-8130 for weather updates for Lake Tahoe.

Quagga and Zebra mussel inspections are mandatory for boats being launched in Lake Tahoe. See Tahoe Boat Inspections.
