Silverwood Lake is known for its great boating. Personal watercraft, fishing boats, kayaks, ski boats, and others all find plenty of room on the lake.
Float tubes can be towed behind a boat or a wave runner if the tube is a commercially manufactured inflatable designed for being towed by a boat. Tire tubes are not allowed.
You are advised to have a Boat Launch Reservation (or 1-800-444-PARK) before arriving at the lake from May through September. The number of boats allowed on the lake is limited to 125. The Launch Reservation also assures you of a parking place for your trailer in the day parking lot or a campsite with space for your boat and trailer if you are staying overnight. No boat or trailer may be left in the parking lot overnight. Launch Reservations usually fill up on Saturdays and Sundays during the summer. The maximum speed allowed on the lake is 35 MPH.

All boats, personal watercraft, kayaks, canoes, sailboards, inflatables, and float tubes must undergo a mandatory inspection. This inspection is to prevent the spread of Quagga and Zebra Mussels. All vessels must be clean, drained, and dry prior to entering Silverwood Lake.
If you pass inspection and launch your vessel, you will have the option of having your vessel undergo a post inspection after you are done boating for the day. When your vessel undergoes post inspection they will verify it is clean, drained, and dry. After the post inspection, a seal will be put on your vessel. If you return to Silverwood Lake or Lake Perris with that seal intact and your post inspection form, you will be allowed to by-pass the inspection station.
