Lake Berryessa Fishing

Lake Berryessa's is home to a variety of fish, including catfish, Chinook and kokanee salmon, brown and rainbow trout, smallmouth and largemouth bass, spotted bass, and bluegill. Waterskiers dominate the center of the lake during the summer, but the many long side channels offer plenty of good places for anglers to fish.

Where to Fish on Lake Berryessa

For those fishing from the shore, the inlets are great places to start. Capell Cove and Steel Canyon Inlet are known as productive locations, as well as the areas adjacent to Big and Small Islands. If you're after catfish, a popular spots are the Putah Creek Inlet, Pope Creek Inlet, and north of the northern bridge.

Those trolling the lake have had a lot of success at the southern end near the dam, in Markley Cove, in Wragg Canyon Inlet, and along the Narrows. The Portuguese Point area has been another place where the fishing has been good. Also around Big Island.
