Bass Lake is stocked with trout, kokanee salmon, bluegill, catfish, and crappie. Fishing with downriggers is popular at the lake. Many trophy size bass and kokanee have been pulled from Bass Lake. A 5 MPH speed limit is in effect until 8:00 AM and usually the lake doesn't get busy with water skiers and jet boats before 10:00 AM.
Those fishing with downriggers like to work the deep parts of the lake, especially by the dam, around the Wishon Boat Ramp, Miller's Landing, and up to Fawn Point. Shallower sections of the lake are found up by The Forks and along the straight from the Sheriff's Tower to Fawn Point. Kokanee angers have good luck in the jet ski area near the dam where many trees are still standing underwater.
Bass fishermen go after Spotted Bass and Black Bass work the shoreline in the fall and spring. Trout fishing is good by Brown's Ditch, around the day use areas, and by the Falls.
Bass Fishing: swimbaits, Plastic Worms, Crankbaits, Spinnerbait. For the biggest bass try swimbaits like the Huddleston trout or Mr. Twister Sassy Shad.
Trout and Salmon: Berkley Powerbait, SpeedyShiners, Nightcrawlers, lures such as Vance's Little Slim Willie. Rebels, crawlers, minnow imitations, spoons, and Rapalas are always good for salmon
